How to travel with a cigar...
Either when you open the humidor, or when you visit the cellar, you see all those jewels that are cigar. You observe the job well done, its beautiful layers, its well-arranged rings, the cigar’s touch, and its perfect conservation after the care and effort put in by the tobacconist, the tobacconist and yourself.
All that perfection can be completely spoiled in just a few hours if we don’t transport our treasures properly and if we carry them with us in any way.
Tobacco is ‘alive’ and as such cannot go without ‘protection’ in our pockets, briefcases, trollers… Would you take your pet in a bag or a cardboard box? No, in a carrier according to its weight, size and condition. Well, we must do the same with our cigars, take them in their own ‘carrier’: cigar cases, cases and travel humidors.
After having seen how to take care of your cigars , how to cut them and how to light them, today we are going to see the different systems for carrying cigars, either for a few hours or for weeks. To do this, we are going to differentiate three large groups based on the time that we are going to spend away from our personal humidor or our reference cellar.
FOR A FEW HOURS
When we will be away from home for a few days, the cigar case may not be enough, we need something larger and that allows us to carry the ‘work’ equipment (cigar cutter, lighter, support…). Although cases already existed long before, in recent years there has been a boom and they are increasingly more elaborate and well thought out.
Generally made of leather (it is a perfect material because it is resistant, allows it to breathe and maintains the humidity of the tobacco), it allows us to carry with us 5-6 cigars, the cigar cutter, the lighter… each one protected in its own section. A perfect case to carry in a suitcase or in your own hand. There are packages/bags on the market for humidity control. Since they are not bulky and work really well, don’t be hesitate to carry one in your case

FOR A FEW WEEKS
The normal thing is that, whatever we take, we are going to run out of stock and have to visit the nearest cellar, but the best thing for when we are going to be away for several days is a travel humidor.
Generally made of PVC (you also have them in wood or metal), filled with foam rubber and with a small humidifier, we can easily carry around 10-20 cigars with us without fear of bumps on our long journeys; It withstands whatever is thrown at it without flinching, keeps our cigars in their proper humidity and does not allow the entry of odors that spoil them.
Having a travel humidor does not prevent us from carrying one or two cigar cases with us, carrying a box the size of a brick all day on our backs is neither comfortable nor elegant.

They give you pleasure and enjoyment, take care of your cigars as they deserve and do not take them with you in any way. Look for the cigar/s that best suit your tastes, value getting a good case and, without hesitation, a travel humidor. Your cigars will thank you and pay you back in spades.
And if you are lucky enough that money is not a problem in your life, you can always turn to a humidor like this one.
