DREW ESTATE LIGA PRIVADA No. 9 CORONET
Drew Estate Cigars
Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel redefined what it means to be cigar makers. Their story didn’t begin in Cuba or with family cigar traditions—it began with a dream. Fueled by determination and grit, they transformed Drew Estate into one of the top cigar manufacturers in the world. The journey started modestly, with two frat brothers from New York running a tiny 16-square-foot kiosk in the World Trade Center.
In 1998, Jonathan Drew took a bold step and moved to Estelí, Nicaragua, aiming to revolutionize the cigar industry. With a handful of rollers, limited funds, and big ambitions, the legend of “That Wild Gringo” came to life. Trading a New York apartment for a mattress above a rickety factory and learning Spanish on the fly. His path was anything but conventional.
Drew Estate stands out for pushing the boundaries of cigar blending. With bold flavours and innovative techniques, they craft cigars that excite the senses. From the infused sweetness of ACID to the rich complexity of Liga Privada, Drew Estate delivers unique profiles that appeal to traditionalists and modern smokers alike. Their dedication to creativity has redefined what a cigar experience can be.
Liga Privada No. 9 Coronet
Drew Estate Liga Privada No. 9 Coronet is crafted using aged tobacco from seven carefully selected farms, originally intended for Jonathan Drew’s personal humidors rather than for sale. Its flawless construction, rich flavour, and exceptional character set it apart.
“Liga Privada,” meaning “private blend,” perfectly describes this masterpiece. The blend incorporates seven distinct tobaccos from seven different vegas. The wrapper undergoes hand fermentation for over 18 months without any exposure to sweat. Only four pairs of artisans in our factory hold the certification to produce this cigar, and each pair crafts no more than 250 cigars per day. After rolling, every cigar is aged for a full year to ensure it meets our exacting standards before release.
